Leo’s Pagers Virtual Paging Service
What is it? It's a paging service without the pager. We will provide you a pager phone number that can alert you at any email address including your cell phone's email address*.
If you have a cell phone with an email address, you may subscribe to the Virtual Paging service and get the benefits of a nationwide pager without actually purchasing a pager!
Here's how it works:
Sign up for Virtual Paging Service, either numeric or alpha numeric. You will be issued a pager phone number (and a pager email address if subscribing to alpha numeric service)
When a person pages you, the page will appear as an email (including an email displayed on your cell phone if you provide your cell phone's email address).
Now you may be thinking, why wouldn't I just give out my cell phone's email address so people can page me directly?
Here are some reason's why some current Leo’s Pagers customers have chosen the Virtual Paging service:
#1: Privacy: Many times you need to give a contact phone number out to someone, such as a plumber or electrician or maybe a clerk at a business to notify you of an appointment or that something you ordered is available for pickup. Your employer may want a contact phone number. You may want to run a classified ad in a newspaper or an online auction, you may even want to run an ad in an out of town newspaper but need a local access number for that area. But what if the wrong person were to be given your personal cell phone number, they could call you at all hours of the day and night and invade your personal privacy. With the Virtual Pager #, they could only leave you a page or if you add voicemail to your virtual pager #, they could still leave you a voice message, but they will not be able to call you on your personal cell phone #. There have been many reasons why a separate phone number would be required, but privacy is the #1 reason.
#2. Local Access Phone #'s: For the same reasons why people still use pagers, a virtual pager can come in handy for all types of reasons, for example, college students that live in one area of the country but go to school in another area of the country can get a virtual pager # local for their college, so friends will not incur toll charges when calling their out of town cell phone #.
#3. Advertising: Suppose you need to run an ad that advertises a special event. You may want to have a phone number for people to call for more information or to get directions or leave an RSVP. Why give out your cell phone or home phone number? Give out your virtual pager phone number with voicemail. You'll get notified when people call, but they won't be burning up your cell phone minutes at the same time. You can even get a virtual pager number for another area of the United States and have it alert you on your cell phone, nobody would ever know where you are!
#4 Test Marketing: Suppose you want to run several ads and see which ad gives you the best response. Place a different Virtual pager phone number with voicemail in each ad and see which one gets the most messages! All of the message alerts can end up at your same email address, but you will know which virtual phone number was dialed by the pager number that shows up in your email, therefore you will know which ad was responded to most.
